The Opportunity

We are looking for a friendly, organised and confident individual to join an established manufacturing business in a Customer Service position.

This is an office-based role combining customer service, administration and sales support. You will become an important point of contact for customers, helping to manage their orders from initial enquiry through to production and delivery.

Previous office experience would be beneficial, but it is not essential.

This could also be an excellent opportunity for somebody currently working in retail, hospitality or another customer-facing role who is looking to move into their first office-based position and develop a longer-term career.

The most important things are that you are comfortable speaking with people, have a good telephone manner, are reasonably confident using computers and are willing to learn.

  • Acting as a key point of contact for customers throughout the order process
  • Taking customer orders and responding to telephone and email enquiries
  • Providing customers with regular updates on their orders
  • Building positive and professional relationships with customers
  • Understanding customer requirements and helping to maintain a high level of customer service

  • Identifying potential delays and keeping customers informed
  • Helping to prioritise orders around customer requirements and agreed delivery dates
  • Maintaining accurate customer and order information on internal systems
  • Providing general administrative and sales support to the wider team

About You

You do not necessarily need previous experience within manufacturing or an office environment.

We would particularly like to hear from people who have developed strong customer service skills in environments such as retail, hospitality, call centres, administration or sales support.

You should have:

  • A friendly and professional telephone manner
  • Strong people and communication skills
  • Good basic IT and computer skills
  • Confidence communicating by telephone and email
  • Good organisation and attention to detail
  • The ability to manage several tasks at the same time
  • A reliable and positive approach to work
  • A willingness to learn and become familiar with the company's products and processes

What's On Offer?

  • Salary of up to £30,000 depending on experience
  • Monday to Friday working with an early finish every Friday
  • Office-based working hours
  • Full training and support
  • An opportunity to move into an office-based career
  • A varied role combining customer service, administration and order coordination
