Customs Clearance Administrator

Amour Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting Customs Clearance Clerks for our well-established client based in Portsmouth.

As a Customs Clearance Clerk, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth movement of goods by accurately processing customs documentation and providing excellent customer support.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Completing GB Border pre-notifications.
• Preparing and processing import and export customs declarations.
• Calculating and paying the appropriate HMRC duties and tariffs.
• Issuing proforma invoices.
• Advising customers on GB customs requirements and regulations.
• Submitting declarations to HMRC and ensuring compliance with current legislation.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• Previous experience processing import and export customs declarations would be desirable
• Good working knowledge of customs procedures and documentation (desirable)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel (essential)
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Working Hours- Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Following successful completion of your training, you will join the remote on-call rota.

Weekday On-Call (remote)

• Approximately one week per month.
• Hours are either 5:00pm – 8:00pm or 5:00pm – 10:00pm, depending on the team.
• A company laptop and mobile phone will be provided.

Weekend On-Call (remote)

• One weekend in every 3–4 weeks.
• Remote cover between 8:00am – 10:00pm.
• Workload varies, from as little as one hour to up to 20 hours over the weekend.
• Regardless of hours worked, you'll receive a £200 overtime payment for each on-call weekend.

Salary- Competitive and dependent on experience.
