Customs Manager

Location: Dagenham, Essex
Salary: Circa £50,000 - Negotiable DOE
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Working Pattern: 100% Office-Based
I'm recruiting for an experienced Customs Manager to join a well-established international logistics business based in Dagenham.
This is a hands-on leadership role, managing a team of 4 and taking ownership of the full customs function across import and export movements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of 4 Customs Operators
- Oversee customs processes and compliance
- Complete customs entries and T forms for export trailers
- Arrange customs clearance for import trailers
- Manage VAT and duties
- Handle HMRC queries
- Mentor and train team members where needed
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years customs experience
- Strong knowledge of the full import/export customs process
- Experience dealing directly with HMRC
- Previous team leadership/supervisory experience
- Experience using Sequoia
- Strong communication and organisational skills
