The Company:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Dairy Engineer to join a well-established, family-run dairy engineering and supplies business with a strong reputation for providing reliable, practical solutions to dairy farmers across the region.
The business specialises in the supply, installation, servicing and maintenance of dairy equipment, working closely with farmers to ensure their systems operate efficiently and reliably. Their product range includes milking machines, parlour equipment, and automatic feeding systems.
The Job Role:
As a Dairy Engineer, you will be responsible for visiting dairy farms across the region to install, service, maintain and repair a range of dairy equipment.
This is a varied, hands-on position where you will work directly with farmers and customers, ensuring equipment is operating safely and efficiently and providing a high level of customer service.
Location: Field based role covering the East Midlands area including Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.
Salary Package: £35,000 - £45,000 Basic Salary Depending on Experience + Company Van + Tools Provided + Overtime.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of dairy and agricultural equipment.
Work on milking machines, parlour equipment, and automatic feeders.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults and carry out effective repairs.
Undertake planned preventative maintenance and routine servicing.
Attend breakdowns and provide responsive technical support to customers.
Commission and test newly installed equipment.
Ensure machinery and equipment are operating safely and to the required standards.
Liaise directly with farmers to understand issues and provide practical solutions.
Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
Provide customers with advice on equipment operation, maintenance and best practice.
Work closely with the wider team to ensure projects and installations are delivered successfully.
Travel throughout the East Midlands with occasional travel further afield if required.
Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota when required.
Candidate Requirements:
Previous engineering experience working with dairy equipment.
Knowledge of milking systems, and automatic feeding equipment.
Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
Experience with hydraulic systems would be advantageous.
Ability to read and understand technical information and wiring diagrams.
Good practical problem-solving ability.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
A professional and reliable approach when dealing with customers.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Flexibility to work additional hours and participate in an emergency call-out rota when required.
