Damp & Mould Volume Surveyor (Interim Contract)

Rate: £30 - 40.00 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Contract: Interim/ 3 months
Location: North Yorkshire & North East Coast (Middlesbrough, Scarborough and surrounding areas)
Working Pattern: 5 days per week, office and site-based
Mileage: Paid from home address to site visits

The Role:

We are currently seeking an experienced Damp & Mould Volume Surveyor to support a busy housing provider across the North East and North Yorkshire region.

This is a high-volume surveying position focused on inspecting, diagnosing and reporting on damp, mould and condensation issues within occupied residential properties. The successful candidate will be comfortable managing a decently large caseload and carrying out multiple surveys each day across a geographically dispersed patch.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake 3-4 damp and mould surveys per day across the region.
• Inspect residential properties and identify causes of damp, mould and condensation.
• Produce detailed survey reports with clear recommendations for remedial works.
• Liaise with tenants, contractors and internal housing teams.
• Prioritise cases based on severity and risk.
• Ensure compliance with current housing standards and health & safety requirements.
• Support disrepair and complaint investigations where required.

Requirements:

• Proven experience carrying out damp and mould surveys within social housing or residential property portfolios.
• Strong understanding of building pathology, moisture ingress, condensation and ventilation issues.
• Experience producing technical reports and remedial specifications.
• Ability to manage a high-volume workload and work independently.
• Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
