Data Analyst in London, Greater London

Your new company
You'll be joining a leading international bank in the City of London. You'll sit in its Payments team, which supports the bank's day-to-day operations and works closely with teams across the business.

Your new role
As a Data Analyst in the Payments & Data Solutions team, you'll use data, reporting and automation to make the department more efficient.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Building reports and dashboards from scratch, working from requirements gathered across different stakeholders
• Pulling, checking and analysing data from internal systems with SQL and Python
• Developing and maintaining Excel-based reporting tools
• Supporting automation, including monitoring RPA processes and investigating exceptions
• Finding ways to improve processes and automate manual tasks
• Assessing how system enhancements and regulatory changes affect the business, and gathering requirements
• Supporting project governance with trackers, action logs and management reporting
• Working with Technology, Operations, Risk and external stakeholders from requirements through to testing and implementation

What you'll need to succeed
Essential:

• A degree in a subject such as Business, Finance, Economics or Information Systems
• Experience in financial services
• Commercial experience with SQL and Python
• Experience building reports end to end with business users
• Strong Excel skills (formulas and pivot tables)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with good attention to detail
• Good communication skills and a flexible approach to changing priorities
  
  Highly desirable:
• Payments experience, ideally including SWIFT / ISO 20022
• Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate or VBA
• Exposure to RPA, process improvement or digital transformation projects
