I am recruiting for a Data Analyst to join a Management Information Services team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in using data, business intelligence and automation to improve strategic planning, performance and decision-making across the College.

You will analyse trends and patterns within complex datasets, produce actionable insights and develop engaging dashboards, reports and visualisations. A key focus will be transforming manual reporting processes into automated, interactive and scalable solutions.

You will also contribute to the development of modern BI, predictive analytics and data science approaches, while supporting improvements to the College's student records systems through SQL automations, triggers and database development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse data to identify trends, patterns and actionable insights.
  • Develop interactive dashboards, reports, visualisations and alerts.
  • Consolidate manual reporting into automated and scalable solutions.
  • Work with multiple data sources, including Microsoft SQL Server and Google.
  • Ensure data is accurate, complete and reliable.
  • Support departments with business reporting and analysis.
  • Provide insight into recruitment, retention, student performance and financial activity.
  • Work with stakeholders to improve data transparency and accessibility.
  • Develop SQL-based automations and triggers within the student records system.
  • Create and maintain linked SQL databases and external data feeds.
  • Support the adoption of modern BI, predictive analytics and data science tools.

About You

Looking for someone with strong analytical and problem-solving skills who can turn complex data into meaningful information for a range of stakeholders.

You should have:

  • A Level 3 qualification in Data Analytics, Computer Science or a related subject.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience developing dashboards and reports.
  • Experience analysing trends, patterns and complex datasets.
  • Knowledge of data visualisation techniques and best practice.
  • Experience working with multiple data sources.
  • Excellent attention to detail and data interpretation skills.
  • The ability to work independently, use initiative and solve problems.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • A positive, self-starting approach and strong customer service skills.

Experience with Python, R, Microsoft Power BI or Google Data Studio would be desirable, as would a degree or equivalent qualification in Data Analytics, Computer Science or a related discipline.
