The role

The purpose of this role is to support the successful delivery of Orbit’s net zero carbon strategy by ensuring the integrity, availability and effective management of asset data

Working collaboratively across Asset Optimisation, Decarbonisation Delivery and wider Orbit teams, helping to ensure information is accurately maintained and effectively utilised to support decision-making, regulatory compliance, internal and external reporting and Orbit’s wider strategic objectives.

With a strong focus on data quality and consistency, the role will promote confidence in asset data and support robust governance across the organisation.

This role is part of Property where you'll help us to lead the way investing and maintaining 46,000 homes.

What you'll achieve

  • Update asset databases with accurate component information in relation to energy efficiency improvement works
  • Maintain multiple asset databases, such as ActiveH and Parity Projects, ensuring data is consistent across systems and working with wider Orbit teams to investigate and rectify discrepancies
  • Maximise use of data received from dwelling assessments, EPC surveys and retrofit works by ensuring all relevant information, including supporting documentation, is captured, saved, and made accessible within appropriate systems
  • Manage data exports and baseline information to support the delivery of EPC programmes and government-funded retrofit projects, ensuring information is accurate, timely and suitable for intended use
  • Review planned improvement and decarbonisation programmes to identify and prevent overlap
  • Review component installation and replacement dates to ensure proposed energy efficiency improvement works are appropriate and do not result in the premature replacement of assets
  • Generate accurate asset management-related performance indicators and reports, which enable managers to assess performance, benchmark against other organisations and support continuous improvement of the service to customers

What you'll bring

Essential skills

  • Experience in using property asset management systems
  • Strong ability to manage, maintain and analyse large datasets with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • A proactive self-starter who can prioritise workload and work independently
  • Confident using software systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, to analyse and present information
  • English and mathematics GCSE (or equivalent) at Grade 4/C or above

Desirable skills

  • Good understanding of SAP and/or qualification as a Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA).
  • Experience using PowerBI to analyse, visualise or present data
  • Good understanding of building performance, energy efficiency or retrofit principles
  • Experience using ActiveH and Parity Projects asset management systems
  • Understanding of building compliance requirements, certification and regulatory standards
  • Experience working on DESNZ-funded projects
  • Experience working within a social housing setting
