Within the role you will lead the design, development, maintenance, and optimisation of their databases, ensuring it remains secure, scalable, and fit for the future. As part of the role, you will be supported by the Head of IT.

This Data Engineer role will have the below responsibilities:
- Design, maintain, and optimise the systems and database infrastructure
- Working closely with a 3rd party database design consultant
- Build and manage ETL processes and system integrations
- Monitor database performance, security, and data integrity
- Consolidate or build data flows
- Ensure compliance with data governance and GDPR requirements
- Conducting diagnostics tests
- Collaborate with IT teams and third-party providers on database solutions
- Provide technical guidance and support on database technologies
The ideal candidate for this Data Engineer vacancy will have the following attributes and exposure:
- Previous career exposure as a Data Engineer is essential
- Strong experience with SQL Server, MySQL, or similar relational databases
- Experience building and maintaining ETL processes and data integrations
- Knowledge of database performance tuning, security, and backup procedures
- Understanding of data governance, GDPR, and data management best practices
- Experience working with APIs and integrating multiple business systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical and non-technical teams
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS would be advantageous
