Operating within the critical metadata pillar, you will help deliver and evolve metadata services that enable trusted, well-managed, and discoverable data and AI products across the entire organisation. This is a brilliant opportunity to work with market-leading tools such as Collibra and Databricks Unity Catalog, developing strategic data capabilities that directly influence key business decisions and drive data and AI enablement.

This role offers a unique chance to join a highly visible, evolving team during a period of large-scale business transformation and innovation, providing exceptional scope for professional development and career progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Roadmap Delivery: Support the successful planning and execution of the metadata roadmap, taking proactive ownership of key deliverables.
  • Tooling Enhancement: Develop new capabilities within Collibra and Unity Catalog to enhance the maturity of data governance tools, maximising their overall value to the business.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Data Owners and Data Stewards to facilitate successful data delivery and quality governance outcomes through new and enhanced tooling capabilities.
  • Promote Best Practice: Advocate for the value of metadata tooling by demonstrating advanced features and capabilities to Data Owners and Data Stewards.
  • Process Improvement: Identify key process improvements and automation opportunities within data workflows through the smart application of metadata tooling.
  • Coaching and Translation: Coach business stakeholders on the value of business context in metadata management, successfully bridging the gap between business needs and technical metadata platforms.

What We Are Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will need a combination of technical capability and strong collaborative skills:

  • Data Governance Expertise: A strong understanding of data governance best practices, as well as the core purpose and value of metadata management (a DAMA qualification is highly desirable).
  • Professional Experience: Around 2 years of experience working within a data governance capacity, preferably within a large scale or highly regulated corporate environment.
  • Tooling Experience: Hands-on experience using Collibra or equivalent tools (such as Informatica, Atacama, Alation, etc.), combined with a strong awareness of Databricks Unity Catalog.
  • Business Communication: The ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, value-led terms easily understood by non-technical stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: A flexible approach, thriving in dynamic environments with evolving requirements.
  • Growth Mindset: An ambitious attitude with a passion for learning and a keen interest in technological advancements, automated data processes, and AI-enabled analytics.
