Dealership Accountant / Management Accountant
Location: St Helens
Salary: £45,000-£50,000 negotiable

The Opportunity
An established and growing automotive business is looking to appoint an experienced Dealership Accountant to oversee the finance function across multiple revenue streams including new and used car sales, van sales, aftersales and vehicle leasing.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-moving environment and wants to play an active role in the commercial direction of the business, rather than simply producing accounts.
There is genuine scope for this role to develop into a Finance Director position as the business continues to grow.
The Role
Responsibilities include:
- Monthly management accounts
- VAT returns
- Daily cash flow management
- Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Budget preparation and forecasting
- Audit preparation and compliance
- Financial reporting and presentations
- Supporting strategic business decisions with commercial financial analysis
- Working closely with the directors on business planning and future growth
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous motor trade accounting experience (main dealer or independent dealer)
- Strong management accounts experience
- Experience across vehicle sales and aftersales accounting
- Excellent commercial awareness
- The confidence to challenge ideas and provide constructive financial guidance
- The ability to influence senior management rather than simply report figures
- A hands-on approach and willingness to support the wider business when required
