Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Children Home Manager to join our dynamic team. In this vital leadership role, you will support the overall management of the children’s home, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for all young residents. You will work closely with the Children Home Manager to implement care strategies, supervise staff, and uphold high standards of safeguarding and wellbeing. Your proactive approach and strong leadership skills will help foster a positive atmosphere where children can thrive and develop confidently.

Monday - Friday 37 Hours (Sleeps when required)

Responsibilities

• Assist the Children Home Manager in overseeing daily operations of the children’s home, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and policies
• Supervise and support care staff, providing guidance on best practices in child protection, care plans, and therapeutic interventions
• Contribute to the development and implementation of personalized care plans tailored to each child's needs, including those requiring specialized support such as dementia or behavioral challenges
• Monitor and ensure medication administration is carried out accurately and safely in accordance with prescribed guidelines
• Promote a safe environment by conducting regular risk assessments, safeguarding audits, and maintaining vigilant supervision of children at all times
• Support staff training initiatives focused on leadership development, safeguarding procedures, and specialized care techniques such as Alzheimer’s or dementia care
• Engage with children positively to foster trust, resilience, and independence while encouraging their participation in activities that promote growth

Requirements

• 3/4 years within Children Residential
• Level 3 or 4 Children’s Residential Care (or equivalent)
• Demonstrable supervising or management experience within a residential or home care environment
• Strong knowledge of care planning processes, medication administration protocols, and safeguarding procedures
• Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer’s support strategies, and managing complex behavioral needs
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team of care professionals
• Compassionate approach combined with excellent communication skills to build trusting relationships with children and colleagues
• Relevant qualifications in nursing, social work, or childcare are highly desirable; additional certifications in senior or dementia care are advantageous
