Deputy General Manager – Exciting First deputy GM Opportunity (Chester Based Restauarant)

Salary: £35,000–£37,000 DOE, + £4400 estimated gratuity annually.

Total package £39,400 - £41,400.

We are an established, independently owned restaurant with a reputation for great food, outstanding service and a strong team culture. As the business continues to grow, we are looking for an ambitious and motivated individual ready to take the next step into their first General Manager role.

This is a genuine opportunity to work closely alongside the two directors, learning from experienced operators while taking on increasing responsibility for the day-to-day running of the business.

About the Role

As deputy General Manager, you will play a key role in leading the team and ensuring the restaurant operates to the highest standards. You will be supported by the directors and trusted to make decisions that help drive service, team development and commercial performance.

Responsibilities will include:

Leading, motivating and setting an excellent example for the front-of-house team.

Delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Managing FOH rotas.

FOH ordering.

General business administration.

Leader of recruitment, training and development.

Social media and content manager for the business.

Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.

Working closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service.

Helping to drive sales and profitability.

Assisting with stock control and supplier relationships.

Taking ownership of the restaurant in the absence of the directors.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience as a Restaurant Manager, Assistant General Manager or in a senior management position.

Is ready to step up into their first deputy General Manager role.

Leads by example and enjoys developing people.

Thrives in a busy environment and remains calm under pressure.

Has a strong focus on hospitality and customer experience.

Is commercially aware and keen to learn more about running a successful business.

Wants to build a long-term career with an independent company.

What We Offer

Gratuity of £4400 based on expected hours

No overtime will be expected, if it was ever required it would of course be paid in full.
