The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of our children's residential home. You will play a key role in ensuring the home operates in line with regulatory requirements, company policies and the highest standards of care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Registered Manager with the effective operation of the home
- Leading and motivating the staff team to deliver outstanding care
- Ensuring safeguarding and child protection procedures are always followed
- Supporting with staff supervision, development and performance management
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to care planning processes
- Assisting with audits, inspections and regulatory compliance
- Acting as a positive role model for both staff and young people
- Deputising for the Registered Manager in their absence
Person Specification
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Caring for Children and Young People (or equivalent)
- A minimum of 3–4 years' experience working within a residential childcare setting or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, childcare legislation and residential care standards
- Previous experience supervising or leading staff teams
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with children, young people and professionals
- A flexible and proactive approach to supporting the needs of the service
