Domus are working with a growing provider of Adult Learning Disability services, looking for an ambitious Deputy Manager to support the mobilisation and opening of a brand-new Supported Living service.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in establishing a new 5-bed Supported Living service for Adults with Learning Disabilities, taking the service from an empty building through to full operation. You will work closely alongside an experienced Registered Manager, who will provide support and guidance throughout the mobilisation process whilst allowing you to take ownership of the day-to-day development of the service.
This provider is passionate about developing future leaders and offers a genuine career pathway into Registered Management. You will be supported to complete your Level 5 Diploma, with a written commitment within your contract to progress into the Registered Manager position once the service is established.

Key Responsibilities of a Deputy Manager:

  • Support the mobilisation and successful opening of a brand-new Supported Living service for Adults with Learning Disabilities.
  • Assist with building and developing a high-performing staff team through recruitment, induction, training and supervision.
  • Develop positive relationships with Local Authorities, commissioners and external professionals to support referrals and occupancy.
  • Support the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care that promotes independence, dignity, choice and positive outcomes.
  • Assist with the implementation of policies, procedures, quality assurance systems and governance processes.
  • Support compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding requirements and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Ensure accurate care planning, risk assessments and record keeping are maintained.
  • Support rota management, staffing levels and the effective day-to-day operation of the service.
  • Work collaboratively with the Registered Manager to ensure the successful growth and development of the service.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive culture where people supported are encouraged to maximise their independence and quality of life.
Deputy Manager Requirements:
  • Previous experience within Adult Learning Disability, Autism or Supported Living services.
  • Experience in a Senior Support Worker, Team Leader or Deputy Manager position.
  • Good understanding of person-centred care and positive outcomes for people with Learning Disabilities.
  • Good knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding and quality standards.
  • Level 4 or Level 5 Health & Social Care qualification, or willingness to work towards one.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with people supported, families, commissioners and professionals.
  • Experience supporting recruitment, supervision, training and staff development.
  • Good organisational, administrative and IT skills.
  • Understanding of risk management, safeguarding and confidentiality.
  • Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
  • Flexible approach to working hours and willingness to participate in on-call duties where required.
  • (Desirable) Previous experience opening or mobilising a new service .
  • (Desirable) Experience managing Learning Disability and/or Autism Supported Living services.
  • (Desirable) Train the Trainer qualifications.
  • (Desirable) Knowledge of business development or occupancy growth.

  • Competitive salary of £35,000, increasing to £40,000 following successful completion of probation.
