We are recruiting on behalf of a valued client for an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to join a specialist solo placement children's home in Widnes. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in providing exceptional care and support to a young person with complex emotional and behavioural needs within a nurturing and therapeutic environment.
Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will help lead a dedicated team, ensuring the home delivers outstanding outcomes and maintains the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance.
The Role
As Deputy Manager, you will:
- Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day operation of the home.
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of Residential Support Workers to provide outstanding care.
- Promote positive outcomes for children and young people, encouraging independence, education and personal development.
- Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times.
- Assist with staff supervision, training, rota planning and performance management.
- Support the development and implementation of care plans and risk assessments.
- Maintain compliance with Ofsted regulations and quality standards.
- Build positive relationships with young people, families, local authorities and external professionals.
- Act as a role model, creating a warm, stable and supportive home environment.
- Participate in the on-call rota and provide leadership when required.
About You

✔ Experienced in residential childcare, ideally within a solo or therapeutic placement setting.

✔ Experienced in safeguarding and behaviour management strategies.
✔ Committed to achieving outstanding outcomes for young people.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Working towards or willing to undertake the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
- Previous experience in a Senior Residential Support Worker or Deputy Manager role.
- Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and children's home standards.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and participate in an on-call rota.
