About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Deputy Nursery Manager to join a welcoming and supportive early years setting in Roehampton.

The Deputy Nursery Manager will work closely with the Nursery Manager to support the effective day-to-day running of the setting, ensuring that children receive the highest standards of care, education and support in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced early years professional who is ready to take the next step in their leadership career and play a key role in supporting both children and staff.



Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Nursery Manager with the effective day-to-day operation of the nursery.

  • Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding, compliance and EYFS practice are maintained.

  • Provide leadership, guidance and support to nursery staff, acting as a positive role model.

  • Encourage staff development and promote a strong culture of teamwork and professional growth.

  • Create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where children can thrive.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and carers.

  • Ensure effective communication with families, providing a welcoming and supportive experience.

  • Support the implementation of policies and procedures across the setting.

  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the nursery.

  • Help ensure the nursery operates efficiently and continues to provide high-quality early years provision.



About the Ideal Candidate

The successful Deputy Nursery Manager will have a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and previous experience within an early years setting, ideally with leadership or supervisory responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • A recognised Level 3 or above Early Years qualification.

  • Previous experience within an early years setting, with leadership experience highly desirable.

  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding procedures.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • The ability to lead, motivate and support a team.

  • A genuine passion for providing outstanding care and education to young children.

  • A positive, proactive and professional approach.

  • The confidence to work alongside the Nursery Manager and take responsibility when required.
