Role Overview
The role will focus on arranging placements and care packages for adults within agreed timeframes, budgets, and quality standards. This includes residential and nursing placements, domiciliary care, supported living, daytime support, and complex or specialist packages, including hospital discharge placements.
Key Responsibilities
- Take a leading role in the Council’s financial planning and annual budget cycle, including the setting of Council Tax.
- Manage and oversee the Council’s year-end financial reporting, statutory accounts.
- Provide strategic leadership across revenue, capital and financial accounting, maintaining high standards of financial accuracy, control and reporting.
- Play a key role in shaping the Council’s medium and longer-term financial strategy.
- Deliver detailed financial analysis, forecasting and modelling to inform strategic decisions, major programmes, commercial proposals and investment opportunities.
- Maintain a strong framework of financial controls and governance, ensuring compliance with legislation, professional standards, Council policies and statutory responsibilities.
- Act as a senior financial advisor to executive directors, senior officers and elected Members
- Support the Council in maintaining its long-term financial resilience
