We are seeking a talented Design and Assurance Coordinator to join a major infrastructure project, playing a key role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of complex civil engineering works.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Civil or Structural Engineer who enjoys working at the interface between design and construction. You'll be responsible for coordinating technical assurance activities, managing construction-stage design issues, and ensuring engineering solutions are delivered in line with project requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the technical assurance process for designated work packages.
- Ensure compliance with project requirements, relevant Technical Standards, National Standards, and Eurocodes.
- Coordinate design delivery and resolve technical issues with designers, construction teams, and supply chain partners.
- Manage engineering change control processes, including:
- Technical Queries (TQs)
- Specification Departures
- Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
- Field Changes
- Support design reviews, assurance submissions, and technical approval processes.
- Maintain accurate and robust design, assurance, and compliance documentation.
- Communicate technical requirements and design changes clearly to site delivery teams.
- Support programme reviews and assist in resolving design-related construction challenges.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders to ensure engineering solutions are practical, buildable, and compliant.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- Experience working within a contractor-led, technically complex infrastructure environment.
- A strong understanding of design assurance and construction-stage engineering delivery.
- Experience coordinating multiple designers, consultants, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and technical coordination.
Experience in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous:
- Drainage design
- Earthworks
- Reinforced concrete structures
- Utilities design and coordination
- Major infrastructure, rail, highways, energy, or civil engineering projects
