The Opportunity

We are seeking a talented Design and Assurance Coordinator to join a major infrastructure project, playing a key role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of complex civil engineering works.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Civil or Structural Engineer who enjoys working at the interface between design and construction. You'll be responsible for coordinating technical assurance activities, managing construction-stage design issues, and ensuring engineering solutions are delivered in line with project requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical assurance process for designated work packages.
  • Ensure compliance with project requirements, relevant Technical Standards, National Standards, and Eurocodes.
  • Coordinate design delivery and resolve technical issues with designers, construction teams, and supply chain partners.
  • Manage engineering change control processes, including:
    • Technical Queries (TQs)
    • Specification Departures
    • Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
    • Field Changes
  • Support design reviews, assurance submissions, and technical approval processes.
  • Maintain accurate and robust design, assurance, and compliance documentation.
  • Communicate technical requirements and design changes clearly to site delivery teams.
  • Support programme reviews and assist in resolving design-related construction challenges.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders to ensure engineering solutions are practical, buildable, and compliant.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • Experience working within a contractor-led, technically complex infrastructure environment.
  • A strong understanding of design assurance and construction-stage engineering delivery.
  • Experience coordinating multiple designers, consultants, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and technical coordination.
Desirable Experience

Experience in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous:

  • Drainage design
  • Earthworks
  • Reinforced concrete structures
  • Utilities design and coordination
  • Major infrastructure, rail, highways, energy, or civil engineering projects
