Our client is looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join their friendly, growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering bespoke conveyor, automation and materials handling projects from concept through to installation. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer who enjoys managing projects, liaising with customers and providing innovative engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare initial project designs and drawing layouts.
- Liaise with the sales team to understand project requirements and specifications.
- Produce general assembly drawings, detailed manufacturing drawings and BOM schedules using SolidWorks.
- Work within project budgets and support purchasing to maintain cost controls.
- Create final build and installation drawings for production teams.
- Issue jobs to the assembly workshop and provide technical support throughout the build process.
- Provide technical support and assistance to customers.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting key deadlines.
- Conduct customer site surveys, measurements and layout checks.
- Lead customer design review meetings and discuss project implementation plans.
- Support and lead technical project activities within the design office.
- Assist with R&D projects, concept development, budgets and supporting documentation.
- Complete design risk assessments and associated technical documentation.
Experience and Skills Requirements
- Technical engineering background.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in engineering design, automation machinery or a related industry.
- Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software, particularly SolidWorks.
- Experience with conveyor systems, materials handling equipment, manufacturing machinery or automation systems would be advantageous.
- Good understanding of engineering drawings, manufacturing processes and project delivery.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites when required.
- Ideally located within a commutable distance of Aldershot.
