- Mon-Friday (early finish Fridays!)

Backed by an expanding global healthcare group, this specialist company designs and builds custom special machinery for the high-growth pharmaceutical sector. Manufacturing bespoke systems, they offer the perfect mix of structured corporate backing and tight-knit, collaborative R&D freedom.
The Role
You'll be the central pivot taking high-value machinery concepts from clean-sheet CAD to the assembly shop floor.
- 3D Design & Prototyping: Bring bespoke machinery, sheet metal enclosures, and pneumatic systems to life using SolidWorks, incorporating rapid 3D printing for prototype testing.
- Dual-Discipline Engineering: Bridge the gap between mechanical structures and basic electrical integration (wiring layouts, circuit boards, and control enclosures).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work daily alongside Procurement, Production, and Installation teams to ensure your designs are cost-effective, buildable, and easily serviced.
- R&D & Product Evolution: Re-engineer core portfolio machinery while developing entirely bespoke, one-off solutions for specialized medical and pharma applications.
- Team Leadership: Act as a hands-on mentor to a Graduate Design Engineer, guiding their technical development as the business continues to scale.
What We're Looking For
- SolidWorks Specialist: Strong mechanical design background (machined parts, sheet metal, pneumatics) with proficient SolidWorks experience (AutoCAD is a bonus).
- Electrical Exposure: Comfortable reading/designing basic wiring diagrams, circuit board positioning, and electrical enclosure layouts alongside your mechanical work.
- Hands-on R&D Mindset: Practical experience or exposure to 3D printing prototyping, multi-departmental manufacturing support, and an HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
