We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business for a Design Engineer to join their team in Newtown. This is an excellent opportunity for either a Graduate Engineer looking to develop their career or an experienced Design Engineer seeking a varied role with involvement across the full product development lifecycle.

Shift: 38-hour week, Flexitime

Salary & Benefits:

• Salary of £28,000 - £45,000

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design and develop new products and improve existing designs
• Produce 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Manage projects from concept through to manufacture
• Work closely with Production to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Support tooling, jig and fixture design where required
• Resolve technical and manufacturing issues and contribute to continuous improvement activities

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline
• Experience using 3D CAD software, with SolidWorks experience desirable
• Good understanding of engineering design principles and design for manufacture
• Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
• Ability to produce accurate engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Production and other departments
• Suitable for both graduate-level candidates and experienced Design Engineers
