Design Manager

London | £55,000 - £65,000 + Excellent Benefits

An established and highly respected UK construction contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Design Manager to join its London team.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-profile construction projects, working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal delivery teams from pre-construction through to project completion.

As Design Manager, you'll take ownership of the design process, ensuring information is coordinated, programmes are maintained, risks are managed and projects are delivered to the highest quality standards.

You'll work collaboratively with commercial, operational and design teams, helping to drive projects forward while ensuring technical excellence throughout.

• Manage the design process from tender through to project completion.

• Coordinate and manage external consultants and specialist subcontractors.

• Produce and maintain design programmes and information release schedules.

• Chair design coordination meetings and workshops.

• Review design information for quality, compliance and buildability.

• Manage RFIs, design changes and technical queries.

• Support value engineering and procurement activities.

• Work closely with project, commercial and planning teams.

• Build strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.

• Promote best practice across BIM, document control and quality processes.

We're looking for someone who has:

• Previous experience as a Design Manager within the construction industry.

• Experience working for a main contractor.

• Excellent understanding of construction processes and buildability.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to manage multiple design packages simultaneously.

• Good commercial awareness.

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

• Relevant construction or design qualification.

• BIM knowledge and experience.

• Document Control systems experience.

• Experience with Viewpoint or similar platforms.

• Knowledge of CDM and construction health & safety requirements.

• Salary of £55,000 - £65,000
