The Role This is more than just a management position.
As Design Team Leader, you'll lead and develop a team of designers whilst remaining actively involved in producing high-quality design schemes and customer presentations.
You'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard, supporting your team and working closely with colleagues across the business to provide outstanding customer solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading, coaching and developing a team of designers
  • Managing workloads to ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard
  • Creating a positive team culture that encourages collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Producing high-quality 2D design schemes and customer presentations
  • Working with customers to understand their requirements and develop practical, commercially viable solutions
  • Identifying challenges and implementing effective solutions
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure projects run smoothly from concept through to delivery
  • Maintaining accurate project and customer records within CRM systems
  • Monitoring team performance and supporting ongoing development
  • Ensuring company processes and procedures are followed consistently
  • Using data to identify trends, improve performance and support decision making
About You We're looking for someone who enjoys leading people whilst remaining involved in the technical side of design.
You'll ideally have:
  • Experience leading, mentoring or managing a team within a design, technical or project environment
  • Experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD software
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships across the business
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Good analytical skills with confidence working with data
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
Experience with Adobe Photoshop would be an advantage but is not essential.
An interest in AI and emerging technologies would also be beneficial.
