The Role This is more than just a management position.
As Design Team Leader, you'll lead and develop a team of designers whilst remaining actively involved in producing high-quality design schemes and customer presentations.
You'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard, supporting your team and working closely with colleagues across the business to provide outstanding customer solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, coaching and developing a team of designers
- Managing workloads to ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard
- Creating a positive team culture that encourages collaboration and continuous improvement
- Producing high-quality 2D design schemes and customer presentations
- Working with customers to understand their requirements and develop practical, commercially viable solutions
- Identifying challenges and implementing effective solutions
- Collaborating with internal teams to ensure projects run smoothly from concept through to delivery
- Maintaining accurate project and customer records within CRM systems
- Monitoring team performance and supporting ongoing development
- Ensuring company processes and procedures are followed consistently
- Using data to identify trends, improve performance and support decision making
You'll ideally have:
- Experience leading, mentoring or managing a team within a design, technical or project environment
- Experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD software
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships across the business
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Good analytical skills with confidence working with data
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
An interest in AI and emerging technologies would also be beneficial.
