Design Manager - Cut & Carve Healthcare Project

Location: Central London
Salary: £65,000-£75,000 + Package (DOE)

An established London main contractor is looking to appoint a Design Manager to join the team on a £10m cut & carve healthcare refurbishment in Central London.

This is a technically challenging project involving the refurbishment and structural alteration of an existing building, requiring close coordination between consultants, subcontractors and the site team to ensure successful delivery.

The ideal candidate will have experience working for a main contractor as a Design Manager or Design Coordinator, with a background delivering refurbishment, cut & carve, healthcare, commercial or complex structural alteration projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the design process from pre-construction through to completion.
• Coordinate architects, consultants and specialist subcontractors.
• Review design information for buildability, programme and compliance.
• Resolve technical queries and drive design team meetings.
• Ensure information is issued in line with the construction programme.
• Work closely with project delivery teams to achieve programme and quality objectives.

Requirements

• Experience as a Design Manager or Design Coordinator with a UK main contractor.
• Background delivering refurbishment or cut & carve projects.
• Healthcare project experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong technical understanding and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple design packages on live projects.
