Design Manager - East Midlands (Derby)

Salary: Up to £80,000 + excellent package

Region: East Midlands

A leading Tier 2 contractor is establishing a new East Midlands region and is seeking a Design Manager to support and shape this growth. You'll oversee design delivery across industrial, residential, commercial, education and private‑sector projects, joining at an exciting early stage with strong progression potential.

• Design management leadership across multi‑sector projects

• Manage external consultants, specialist designers and technical interfaces

• Oversee design reviews, approvals and documentation control

• Ensure compliance with CDM 2015, Building Safety Act and statutory requirements

• Support pre‑construction, bids and client engagement

• Drive buildability, value engineering and risk management

• Coordinate with Planning, Building Control and external authorities

• Report design progress to senior leadership

• Proven design management experience within construction

• Background in industrial, residential, commercial or education sectors

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

• Solid understanding of RIBA stages, BIM and digital CDEs

• Knowledge of JCT/NEC contracts and technical detailing

• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑growing region

• Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or similar

• Appropriate CSCS card

• Salary up to £80,000
