Design Manager – Façade Projects

We are currently working with a well-established façade contractor who is looking to appoint an experienced Design Manager to oversee the delivery of façade packages from concept through to completion.
The business delivers a diverse portfolio of façade projects ranging from £1.5 million to £8 million, working across residential, commercial, mixed-use and high-rise developments throughout the UK.
The Role
As Design Manager, you will take ownership of the full design process, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest technical standards. You will act as the key link between clients, architects, consultants, suppliers and internal project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Managing façade design projects from pre-construction through to project completion.
Coordinating architects, consultants, structural engineers and specialist subcontractors.
Reviewing technical drawings, specifications and design information.
Ensuring designs comply with current Building Regulations and project requirements.
Managing design programmes and ensuring key milestones are achieved.
Identifying and resolving technical and design-related issues.
Supporting project delivery teams throughout the construction phase.
Attending client meetings, design workshops and site visits as required.
Requirements
Previous experience in a Design Manager role within the façade, cladding or building envelope sector.
Strong understanding of curtain walling, rainscreen cladding, glazing and façade systems.
Experience managing multiple stakeholders across complex construction projects.
Excellent communication and project management skills.
Ability to work independently while leading design coordination activities.
Knowledge of current UK Building Regulations and façade industry standards.
