Design Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced Design Manager to join a major data centre project on a short-term contract for approximately 2–3 months.

The successful candidate will take a lead role in coordinating the design process, ensuring all design information is delivered accurately, efficiently, and in line with the project programme.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate the design process across multiple disciplines.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and the client team.
• Review and coordinate drawings, specifications, and technical information.
• Identify and resolve design issues and clashes.
• Monitor design deliverables against the project programme.
• Manage RFIs, technical queries, design changes, and approvals.
• Ensure design complies with project requirements, relevant standards, and regulations.
• Attend design coordination and project meetings.
• Support the construction team with technical and design-related queries.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Design Manager on major construction projects.
• Previous data centre experience is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of MEP and multidisciplinary design coordination.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work to tight programmes and deadlines.
• Strong technical and organisational skills.
• Relevant construction/design qualification or equivalent experience.

• Rate: £425/day CIS
• Location: Newport
