Design Supervisor

An established and growing specialist construction manufacturer is seeking a Design Supervisor to lead its BIM and detailing team in delivering high-quality structural precast concrete projects across the UK and Ireland.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced design professional with a strong background in precast concrete, BIM coordination, and team leadership to take the next step in their career.The role is based in Magherafelt.

Your new role
As Design Supervisor, you will provide technical leadership and day-to-day management of a skilled BIM team, ensuring the successful delivery of coordinated 3D models, fabrication drawings, and production schedules. Working closely with project, commercial, production, and quality teams, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered accurately, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of BIM Technicians.
• Review and approve detailed production drawings and 3D models.
• Manage design workloads and allocate resources to meet project deadlines.
• Coordinate closely with manufacturing teams, project managers, and site personnel to resolve technical queries.
• Maintain and improve BIM standards, drafting procedures, and design workflows.
• Ensure all design deliverables meet relevant industry standards, project specifications, and quality requirements.

What you'll need to succeed

• Strong experience in the design, detailing, and technical requirements of precast concrete products.
• Previous experience supervising, mentoring, or leading a design or BIM team.
• Excellent understanding of BIM processes, structural drafting, and design coordination.
• Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Desirable:

• Experience using Tekla Structures.
• Degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
