We’re on the lookout for a motivated and customer focused Design Technician to join our team. Whether you’re early in your career or transitioning from hands-on electrical work, this is your chance to learn, grow, and make a real impact.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll support the design and delivery of low voltage (LV) electricity connections across our network. No two days are the same, you’ll be:
- Designing and pricing LV connections, service alterations and upgrades
- Supporting new connections, additional load requests, diversions and reinforcement projects
- Ensuring all connections related infrastructure is designed in accordance with licence conditions, policy and standards. Creating cost-effective, compliant design solutions
- Accountable for meeting the requirements of guaranteed standards of performance targets (GSOP) and licence conditions
- Working with customers to deliver a 10/10 experience every time
- Helping to manage enquiries and resolve issues quickly and professionally
- Supporting regulatory reporting and performance targets
- Learning from experienced colleagues—and potentially mentoring others as you grow
- Carrying out site inspections when needed
The successful candidate must, at the start of employment have permission to work in the UK without sponsorship.
What we’re looking for
We welcome applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences who meet the following criteria:
- ONC/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (desirable)
- Experience in the electricity industry
- Knowledge of health & safety requirements - Health and Safety at Work Act.
- Experience in a customer-facing role and familiarity with CSAT scoring.
- Experience of working to targets and confident in a fast paced high volume, results driven organisation.
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- A collaborative, adaptable approach
- Analytical thinking and attention to detail
- A full clean driving licence
Having hands-on electrical experience (e.g. electrician background) and an understand LV network design or construction environments would be advantageous.
