Salary: £165 - £250 per day (depending on experience)

Working Hours: Part-time (2 Days per Week – Must be available to work on Wednesdays plus one additional day, excluding Thursdays)

Are you a creative and dedicated Design & Technology Teacher looking for a flexible part-time teaching opportunity?

GSL Education London are seeking an enthusiastic Design & Technology Teacher to join a school in Greenwich from September 2026.

The successful Design & Technology (DT) Teacher will deliver engaging lessons across relevant key stages, supporting students according to the curriculum and syllabus. Working two days per week, you will play a key role in helping students develop their design, manufacturing, and problem-solving abilities while fostering a safe and stimulating workshop environment.

Design & Technology Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Design & Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Support students according to the curriculum and syllabus.
  • Teach practical and theoretical aspects of Design & Technology across relevant key stages.
  • Prepare students for coursework, assessments, and examinations where applicable.
  • Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Maintain a safe and organised workshop environment, ensuring health and safety procedures are followed.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and school staff to support student achievement.

Requirements of a Design & Technology Teacher:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE, ECT/NQT, an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design & Technology, Engineering, Product Design, Education, or a related field.
  • Previous experience teaching Design & Technology within schools.
  • Strong subject knowledge across Design & Technology disciplines.
  • Excellent classroom, workshop, and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students through creative and practical learning.
  • Availability to work every Wednesday and one additional day each week (excluding Thursday).
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
