Design Technology Teacher Required - September Start


Spencer Clarke Group is seeking a passionate and dedicated Design Technology Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive mainstream secondary school in the Haydock area from September on a long-term temporary basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to make a real impact within a well-established Design Technology department, teaching students across Key Stages 3 and 4. The school is committed to providing a high-quality education and is looking for a teacher who can inspire creativity, innovation, and practical problem-solving skills in the classroom.
The successful candidate will be confident delivering engaging Design Technology lessons and supporting students in developing both their technical knowledge and practical abilities.



The Role

  • Deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess work in line with the national curriculum.
  • Encourage creativity, independent thinking, and practical learning.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing support where needed.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the department and wider school community.


The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has experience teaching Design Technology within a secondary school setting.
  • Demonstrates strong classroom management skills.
  • Has excellent subject knowledge and a passion for Design Technology.
  • Can engage and motivate students of varying abilities.
  • Is committed to raising attainment and supporting student development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
