The Supply Register is proud to be working in partnership with Dixons City Academy, supporting the academy with high-quality staffing. We are now recruiting enthusiastic and committed Design Technology Teachers specialising in Resistant Materials to join our supply network.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate DT teacher to work within a supportive and ambitious school environment, inspiring students through practical, creative and engaging Design Technology lessons.
About the RoleAs a Design Technology Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the secondary phase. Responsibilities include:

Teaching Design Technology with a focus on Resistant Materials

Planning and delivering engaging practical and theory-based lessons
-
Developing students' knowledge of materials, tools, processes and manufacturing techniques
-
Supporting students to design, manufacture and evaluate their own products
-
Creating and maintaining a safe, well-organised and purposeful workshop environment
-
Managing behaviour effectively and maintaining high expectations
-
Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback
-
Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Design Technology department
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised teaching qualification
-
Strong subject knowledge and practical experience in Resistant Materials
-
Experience teaching Design Technology at secondary level
-
Confidence working in a workshop environment and using a range of tools, materials and equipment
-
Strong behaviour management and classroom management skills
-
Excellent communication and organisational abilities
-
A proactive, flexible and supportive approach
-
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential)
-
