Are you an experienced Designer with strong AutoCAD skills looking to join an established UK manufacturer with a strong pipeline of projects?

This is a great opportunity to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business specialising in the design and manufacture of high-quality modular building solutions. You’ll work as part of an experienced design team, producing drawings for a varied range of projects while seeing your designs progress through manufacture and into completed buildings.

The Company

The company is a leading UK manufacturer within the offsite and modular construction sector, designing and manufacturing building solutions for customers across a range of industries.

The Role

As a Designer, you’ll be responsible for producing accurate technical drawings using AutoCAD, working closely with colleagues across design, engineering, manufacturing and project teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing detailed 2D drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Creating and developing designs for modular building projects.
  • Producing manufacturing and construction drawings to support projects through production.
  • Amending and updating drawings in line with project and client requirements.
  • Working from technical specifications, layouts and project information.
  • Liaising with internal engineering, production and project teams to make sure designs are practical and suitable for manufacture.
  • Supporting projects from the design stage through to manufacture and installation.
  • Managing multiple drawings and projects while working to agreed deadlines.

The Person

To be considered for this Designer position, you will need:

  • Strong experience using AutoCAD – this is essential for the role.
  • Previous experience working within a design, CAD or technical drawing position.
  • The ability to produce accurate and detailed 2D technical drawings.
  • A good understanding of manufacturing, construction or engineering drawings.
  • The ability to work across multiple projects and communicate with different departments.

Previous experience within modular or offsite construction would be ideal, but it isn't essential.

The company is also keen to speak with Designers from industries where similar construction and manufacturing principles are used. This could include:

  • Caravans and holiday homes.
  • Park homes and lodges.
  • Portable or temporary buildings.
  • Timber frame or light-gauge steel construction.
  • Structural steelwork.
  • Architectural metalwork.
  • Building products and systems.
  • Commercial interiors and fit-out.
  • Prefabricated or manufactured building systems.

The key requirement is a strong AutoCAD background combined with experience producing technical drawings within a manufacturing, engineering or construction-led environment.

Package & Benefits

  • Salary: £30,000 – £35,000.
  • Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 08:30 – 17:00; Friday, 08:30 – 16:30
  • Hybrid Working: 2 Days from home 3 Days in office
  • Holidays: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Pension: Excellent 10% employer contributory pension.
  • Bonus: Annual bonus of up to 12.5%.
  • Salary: Annual salary reviews.
  • Holiday Buyback: Option to buy additional annual leave.
