Lawfront is a fast‑growing, PE‑backed group of seven leading regional law firms. We are in the midst of one of the most significant technology transformation programmes in the UK legal sector consolidating our entire technology estate onto a unified platform through Programme Drive.

As a result we are looking to recruit a Deskside Engineer to provide dedicated on-site support to the Drive Programme team on a 6month FTC with the potential to go permanent.

The role

An experienced deskside engineer with M365 skills, embedded within the Drive Programme to provide dedicated on-site technical support to the programme team, deploying new devices to support the Drive technology stack, resolving on-site technical issues, supporting process & data discovery and helping to drive the successful delivery of the programme. The role combines project-focused delivery with hands-on deskside support, working closely with the Drive Programme workstreams and stakeholders to keep delivery on track.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Act as the on-site point of contact for the Drive Programme team, providing hands-on deskside support five days a week.
  • Deploy, configure, and commission new devices to support the rollout of the Drive technology stack, coordinating with programme workstreams, Technology Operations and Quiss to meet delivery milestones. 
  • Log, track, and resolve incidents and service requests in line with SLAs, prioritising issues that impact Drive Programme delivery.
  • 1st line diagnosis and troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and application issues affecting the programme team and the Drive technology stack.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to 2nd/3rd line support teams as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of deployments, device configurations, issues, and resolutions to support programme reporting.
  • Support user account management (e.g., password resets, access requests).
  • Support onboarding and device provisioning as the programme scales, including device build, setup, and migration to the Drive technology stack.
  • Work alongside the Nelsons IT Leads to align deskside activity with wider programme milestones.
  • Work collaboratively with the programme team to deliver a professional, high-quality service throughout the Drive Programme.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Previous experience in a helpdesk or IT support role (1+ years preferred).
  • Experience supporting IT projects, device rollouts, or technology deployments within a programme or project environment.

  • Knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and basic networking.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, M365, ticketing systems (e.g. Halo) and project portfolio systems (e.g. Monday. com).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
