Despatch Operative

Great opportunity to work as a Despatch Operative for our client specialising in the growing and packing of tomatoes.

Staffline is recruiting Despatch Operatives in Bramford, Ipswich.

This is a temp-to-perm position, with the opportunity to move to a permanent contract after 12 weeks.

Due to the location of the site in Ipswich, candidates must have access to their own vehicle or reliable transport to travel to and from the workplace.

The rate of pay is £15.38 per hour up to 48 hours, with overtime paid at £19.23 per hour for all hours worked over 48.

This role operates Sunday to Saturday on a 5‑day rota. Standard working hours are 06:00-15:30, though finish times may vary. You must be prepared to work until duties are completed. Weekly hours typically range from 40-48.

Your Time at Work

As a Despatch Operative, you'll be at the heart of the operation - ensuring customers receive the right product, on time, every time. Your day will include:

- Accurate order despatch - picking, packing, and preparing orders ready for loading
- Order picking for a range of customers
- Product rotation - ensuring stock is used in the correct order
- Goods-in handling, including fruit intake after QC
- Cold store coordination - managing space and product flow
- Despatch administration - completing delivery notes, ASNs, load plans, and vehicle integrity checks
- Communication with customers and suppliers regarding transport timings
- Paperwork control - filing and collecting packhouse documentation
