The Vacancy

We are recruiting a Development Officer to join our Land & New Business team within the Development Directorate. This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly formed organisation with strong development ambitions.

Introduction to the role

At Chime Housing we provide vital services that help people to live better lives. Our Development Directorate plays a key role in delivering new, high-quality homes for rent and sale across our communities.

Role purpose

We’re looking for an enthusiastic andmotivated Development Officer to provide support in the acquisition, feasibility and planning approval process for new build homes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new business and contributing to the growth objectives of the Chime Housing Business plan.

What’s the role?

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assist with leading in the delivery of new homes, including taking leadership activities in certain tasks, with the support of senior staff.
  • Assist the Land & Partnerships Team Manager with project work in relation to the delivery of new homes
  • Manage and brief consultants and Joint Venture partners throughout development projects ensuring that agreed standards are met, that Chime Housing complies with all necessary legislation, and that value for money is achieved.
  • Provide support to the Development Directorate, in the delivery of new homes, property disposal and new business opportunities.
  • Carry out scheme appraisals, ensuring compliance with parameters and key metrics.
  • Working collaboratively with Delivery, Sales and Aftercare at all stages, to prioritise the needs of customers and residents.

What are we looking for?

Essential:

  • Experience in land, new business or development
  • Confident using Microsoft 365 applications, including SharePoint
  • Positive and adaptable, with a willingness to learn
  • Self-motivated, organised and reliable
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car

Desirable:

  • Relevant professional qualification e.g. RICS, CIH, CIoB and/or evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Degree level education or equivalent through relevant training and/or experience.
  • Experience appraising schemes using financial feasibility applications
