Elevate Projects are working in partnership with our client, a local not for profit developer, to appoint an experienced Development & Planning Manager to join their busy development team to ensure successful client side delivery of residential and mixed use projects in the area. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate a portfolio of residential development and regeneration projects.
  • Lead development projects from initial feasibility through planning, procurement, construction and handover.
  • Assess potential development sites and opportunities, including planning, technical and commercial considerations.
  • Coordinate planning applications and work with Local Planning Authorities to secure planning permissions.
  • Manage external planning consultants, architects, engineers, development consultants and other professional advisers.
  • Provide advice on planning policy, affordable housing requirements, Section 106 agreements and planning obligations.
  • Review development proposals and assess their viability, risks, programme and deliverability.
  • Support land acquisition and disposal activities, including due diligence and development appraisals.
  • Prepare and review development appraisals, budgets, cash flows and project business cases.
  • Monitor project programmes, costs, risks and key milestones.
  • Work closely with development, asset management, finance, housing, legal and procurement teams.
  • Manage relationships with development partners, housebuilders, contractors and local authorities.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of planning applications and monitor progress through the planning process.
  • Identify and manage planning, technical, financial and delivery risks.
  • Ensure developments comply with relevant planning, building regulations, housing standards and the organisation's development requirements.
  • Support the procurement and appointment of consultants and contractors in accordance with procurement requirements.
  • Monitor development partners and contractors to ensure agreed obligations and quality standards are achieved.
  • Provide regular reporting to senior management and relevant governance / project boards.
  • Assist with the delivery of affordable housing and wider regeneration objectives.
  • Ensure completed schemes are effectively handed over to operational and asset management teams.
