Are you a registered healthcare professional looking for a new way to use your clinical experience?
This is an excellent opportunity to step away from traditional shift-based and front line clinical work while continuing to use your clinical knowledge, assessment skills, reasoning and professional judgement.
As a Functional Assessor, you'll assess how long-term health conditions and disabilities affect an individual's daily living, mobility and functional ability. You'll conduct structured consultations, consider medical evidence and produce clear, objective and evidence-based reports.
No hands-on care is required, and no previous Functional Assessor experience is necessary.
What you'll do:
- Conduct face-to-face, telephone and video assessments
- Take detailed clinical histories and ask structured questions
- Assess how health conditions and disabilities affect daily activities and functional ability
- Review and analyse medical evidence and supporting information
- Apply clinical reasoning and professional judgement
- Produce accurate, objective and evidence-based reports
- Manage your own workload and caseload
- Communicate professionally and sensitively with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds
- PIP - £45,000 increasing to £47,000 after 12 months (3 detailed reports)
- WCA - £48,000 increasing to £49,000 after 12 months (5-6 detailed reports

- Current NMC, HCPC or GPhC registration
- At least 1 year's post-registration clinical experience in an adult setting
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
- Good clinical reasoning and professional judgement
- Excellent report-writing, typing and IT skills
- The ability to work independently and manage a caseload
- Full right to work in the UK
