Dispatch Team Leader

Our client, a leading international manufacturing business, is looking to recruit a Dispatch Working Team Leader to join their busy operation in Tallington. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation that invests in its people and offers long-term career development.

The Role

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the dispatch yard. You'll lead a small team while remaining hands-on, ensuring customer orders are picked, loaded and dispatched accurately, safely and on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate the dispatch and yard team to achieve daily operational targets.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out safely and in line with Health & Safety procedures.
  • Oversee accurate picking, stock control and efficient vehicle loading.
  • Manage goods-in processes during your shift.
  • Allocate workloads and ensure accurate job bookings.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Coach, train and support team members to maximise performance.
  • Maintain accurate stock and training records.
  • Work closely with production and planning teams to meet customer delivery deadlines.
  • Assist with stock counts and year-end inventory.
  • Provide cover for other shift leaders when required.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:

  • A valid, up-to-date Forklift Truck (FLT) licence.
  • Previous experience within a warehouse, dispatch or yard environment.
  • Experience loading and unloading HGV vehicles.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience, or the confidence to step into a leadership role.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach with a strong commitment to health and safety.
