Location: Chorley (with travel required to other nearby services and accommodation sites)
Contract: Full-Time
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm
Salary: £13.70 per hour
Requirements: Full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle, and business insurance (essential)

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Housing Support Worker to join our team, supporting individuals living in supported accommodation and community-based settings across Chorley and surrounding areas.

You will play a key role in helping people develop the skills, confidence and independence needed to sustain their tenancy and successfully move towards independent living.

This is a community-based role, and travel between services and accommodation sites is required, so a full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle and business insurance are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting Independence

  • Provide person-centred support to individuals in supported accommodation and community settings
  • Complete needs, strengths and risk assessments
  • Deliver regular key working sessions and one-to-one support
  • Develop, implement and review personalised support plans
  • Support individuals to build independent living skills (budgeting, cooking, cleaning, tenancy management, etc.)
  • Encourage engagement in education, training, employment and community activities
  • Support wellbeing, confidence and positive routines
  • Assist individuals in accessing health services and external support agencies

Housing & Tenancy Support

  • Support individuals to understand and maintain their tenancy/licence agreements
  • Promote timely payment of rent and service charges where applicable
  • Carry out property visits and wellbeing checks across multiple sites
  • Report repairs, maintenance and health & safety issues
  • Support positive behaviour and tenancy sustainment
  • Assist with move-on accommodation and resettlement planning

Safeguarding & Risk

  • Promote the safety, wellbeing and independence of all individuals
  • Follow safeguarding, lone working and risk management procedures
  • Respond appropriately to incidents and concerns
  • Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times

Partnership Working & Administration

  • Work collaboratively with housing providers, local authorities, health services and other professionals
  • Attend meetings and contribute to multi-agency support planning
  • Maintain accurate and timely case notes and records
  • Complete required reports, assessments and monitoring documentation
