As part of their continued growth and ongoing delivery of high-profile MOD projects, they are looking to appoint an experienced Document Controller to join their Southampton / Eastleigh team.
The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining accurate, secure and efficiently managed project documentation throughout the construction lifecycle, working closely with project managers, design teams, engineers and subcontractors.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to join a respected national contractor delivering technically challenging projects within a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage, maintain and control all project documentation in accordance with company procedures and client requirements.
Administer electronic document management systems (EDMS), ensuring accurate filing, tracking, revision control and distribution of information.
Coordinate the receipt, review, approval and issue of drawings, specifications, technical submissions and project correspondence.
Maintain document registers, drawing schedules and associated trackers throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure project teams, consultants and subcontractors have access to the latest approved documentation.
Monitor document submissions and approvals, highlighting outstanding information and potential delays.
Support project managers, design managers and site teams with document control processes and reporting.
Assist with the collation of quality assurance records, handover documentation and operation and maintenance manuals.
Maintain strict confidentiality and appropriate access controls for sensitive MOD project information.
Ensure all documentation is managed in accordance with contractual obligations, quality standards and project-specific security protocols.

Previous experience working as a Document Controller within the construction, engineering or infrastructure sectors.
Experience working for a main contractor or on major construction projects would be highly advantageous.
Strong understanding of construction documentation, drawing management and revision control procedures.
Experience using electronic document management systems such as Asite, Aconex, Viewpoint, Autodesk Construction Cloud or similar.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
Excellent organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to manage large volumes of documentation across multiple projects and stakeholders.
Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise with project teams, subcontractors and external consultants.

Due to the nature of the MOD projects, applicants must be eligible to successfully complete Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checks and obtain Security Check (SC) clearance.
Applicants must be able to provide suitable evidence of identity, nationality, right to work in the UK and relevant employment history. British citizenship and a valid British passport would be advantageous, subject to the specific project's security requirements.
Existing BPSS screening or SC clearance would be beneficial, although applicants who are eligible to undergo the required vetting process will also be considered.
