Are you an experienced Document Controller looking for your next opportunity in Edinburgh? Our client is looking for a highly organised and proactive Document Controller to join their project team and play a key role in ensuring project information is accurate, controlled and readily available.
You’ll work closely with the Design Manager and wider project team, taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of project documentation through the Common Data Environment (CDE). This is a varied role combining document control, digital information management and general project administration.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and maintain project documentation across Viewpoint and other digital platforms/CDE systems.
- Ensure documents are correctly named, version controlled, approved and distributed.
- Upload, edit, print and issue drawings, specifications, reports and project deliverables.
- Maintain document registers, trackers and databases, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
- Support compliance with ISO 19650 information management principles and company procedures.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams regarding project information.
- Assist with portal systems and digital construction processes.
- Provide general administrative support to the project team, including diary and meeting room management.
- Provide reception/front-of-house support when required.
- Help maintain audit-ready document trails and proactively resolve information management issues.
We’re looking for someone with previous Document Control experience, ideally within construction, civil engineering or the built environment.
You should have experience working with a Common Data Environment, with Viewpoint experience highly desirable. A good understanding of ISO 19650, document workflows, version control and information management is essential.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, excellent organisation and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are important. You’ll be proactive, reliable and confident working under pressure while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
