Our client is a well-established and growing Fit Out Main Contractor delivering high-quality commercial office, hospitality, and workplace refurbishment projects across Central London. Due to continued project wins, they are looking to appoint an experienced Document Controller to support a flagship fit-out project and ensure the effective management of all project documentation.

The Role

As Document Controller, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date project records while supporting the wider project team. Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, Design Managers, and subcontractors, you will be responsible for controlling, distributing, and managing all project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

This position is fully site-based in Central London, requiring attendance five days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain all project documentation using the company's document management systems.
  • Ensure all drawings, specifications, reports, RFIs, and technical submissions are correctly filed and distributed.
  • Monitor document revisions and maintain accurate revision control.
  • Distribute drawings and project information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with the management of design and construction documentation.
  • Maintain project trackers, registers, and document control logs.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, consultants, and client teams regarding document submissions and approvals.
  • Support project teams during audits and quality assurance processes.
  • Ensure document management procedures comply with company standards and project requirements.
  • Assist with compiling handover documentation and O&M manuals upon project completion.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Document Controller within the construction, fit-out, refurbishment, or main contracting sector.
  • Strong knowledge of common document management platforms such as Viewpoint, Asite, Aconex, Procore, or similar.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work closely with project teams and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience working on commercial fit-out projects is highly desirable.
