Job description
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Document Controller to support the effective management, control, distribution, and maintenance of project documentation on the Protos Energy Recovery Facility, construction project near Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.
This role is based full time on-site and is offered on a Fixed Term Contract basis until mid-October 2028.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the receipt, registration, classification, distribution, storage, retrieval, and archiving of all project documentation, ensuring document control processes are followed throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain document control systems, filing structures, registers, numbering conventions, revision control, and version tracking to ensure project records remain accurate, secure, current, and readily accessible.
- Review and verify documentation for completeness, accuracy, formatting, approvals, signatures, and compliance with company standards, quality requirements, project specifications, and document control procedures.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders to manage document submissions, approvals, information flow, project milestones, and key deadlines.
- Administer electronic document management systems including PIRS, maintain databases, trackers, logs, and registers, produce status reports, and support the continuous improvement of document control processes and systems.

Qualifications
- Experience in Document Control or Project Support roles within engineering, construction, infrastructure, energy, or renewable energy environments.
- Strong knowledge of document control principles, records management, project documentation processes, revision control, quality management systems, and ISO standards.
- Proven ability to manage high volumes of documentation with exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, organisation, confidentiality, and a commitment to quality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook, alongside experience using electronic document management systems; PIRS experience is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, coordination, problem-solving, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads, manage competing deadlines, work independently, and collaborate effectively within project teams.
