We’re looking for an experienced Document Controller to join a large-scale project in Newport, supporting the team from now until February 2027. This role is ideal for someone with strong document control experience within the construction industry and excellent organisational skills. You’ll play a key part in ensuring compliance and maintaining accurate project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Location and Working Pattern
Newport – site-based role. No shift work required.
Client Overview
Our client is delivering a significant construction project in Newport and requires a skilled Document Controller to support efficient management of project documentation in line with digital delivery processes. Responsibilities
- Manage Viewpoint and Procore systems for the full project lifecycle in accordance with digital project delivery procedures.
- Liaise with internal committees and support teams to monitor system adoption and compliance.
- Assist the Design Co‑ordinator with document workflow processes including creation, distribution and maintenance of drawings, specifications, contracts and correspondence.
- Maintain an effective document control system to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor correct naming conventions and compliance with the project Communication Protocol.
- Collaborate with various teams to maintain a smooth flow of information and documentation.
- Control document versioning to avoid discrepancies.
- Provide support and training to teams and address document management queries.
- Assist in ensuring client information delivery requirements are met by the team.
- Support the Quality Lead with O&M and Health & Safety documentation collection.
- Proven experience in document control within the construction sector.
- Strong understanding of construction processes and documentation standards.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in handling documentation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with diverse teams.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency in document management software and Microsoft Office tools.
- Experience using Procore (preferred but not essential).
