Document Controller in Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear

We’re looking for an experienced Document Controller to join a large-scale project in Newcastle. This role is ideal for someone with strong document control experience within the construction industry and excellent organisational skills. You’ll play a key part in ensuring compliance and maintaining accurate project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Location 
Newcastle – site-based role.

Client Overview
Our client requires a skilled Document Controller to support efficient management of project documentation in line with digital delivery processes.

Responsibilities
  • Manage Viewpoint and Procore systems for the full project lifecycle in accordance with digital project delivery procedures.
  • Liaise with internal committees and support teams to monitor system adoption and compliance.
  • Assist the Design Co‑ordinator with document workflow processes including creation, distribution and maintenance of drawings, specifications, contracts and correspondence.
  • Maintain an effective document control system to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor correct naming conventions and compliance with the project Communication Protocol.
  • Collaborate with various teams to maintain a smooth flow of information and documentation.
  • Control document versioning to avoid discrepancies.
  • Provide support and training to teams and address document management queries.
  • Assist in ensuring client information delivery requirements are met by the team.
  • Support the Quality Lead with O&M and Health & Safety documentation collection.
Must‑have Requirements
  • Proven experience in document control within the construction sector.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and documentation standards.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in handling documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with diverse teams.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency in document management software and Microsoft Office tools.
Nice‑to‑have Skills
  • Experience using Procore (preferred but not essential).
