We are recruiting a Door Engineer to work on industrial doors, roller shutters, gates and barriers across the Midlands. This Door Engineer role includes installation, servicing, repairs and electrical diagnostics. As a Door Engineer, you will need an electrical bias, strong fault‑finding skills and hands‑on experience with commercial door systems. We would like to hear from a Door Engineer with an electrical bias and strong diagnostic ability, or you may be a door fitter or mate looking step up the the next level.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, service and repair automatic, industrial doors, gates and barriers
- Electrical diagnostics, sensors, control panels and safety systems
- Fault‑finding and commissioning
- Door fitting and repair experience welcomed
- Complete job sheets and maintain safety compliance
Required Skills & Qualifications
- DHF Level 2
- NVQ Level 2 (relevant discipline)
- Electrical bias and diagnostic ability
- Experience with doors, gates and barriers
- Full UK driving licence
Preferred Experience
- BSEN16005
- Automatic doors, industrial doors, gates and barriers
- Multi‑skilled background
- Mechanical door repairs
Salary & Package
- £18 per hour (£38,000 (basic DOE)
- Paid door-to-door.
- On-call rota: 1 in 9 weeks, Call‑out pay: £50 minimum, 3‑hour guaranteed pay
- Company van with sat‑nav, private use and spouse use allowed
- 33 days annual leave paid at 10 hours per day (worth approx. £1,000 extra per year)
