Drama Teacher

The successful candidate will be passionate about Drama and Performing Arts, with the ability to inspire students across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. They will foster a love of theatre, performance and storytelling while helping students develop confidence, resilience, communication skills and artistic expression.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have a proven track record of delivering engaging and high-quality Drama lessons.
• Be confident teaching Drama across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
• Inspire creativity and participation through innovative and practical teaching methods.
• Have experience directing performances, productions, showcases or extracurricular Drama activities.
• Demonstrate excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Be committed to developing students' confidence, collaboration and communication skills.
• Have experience supporting students with SEN, SEMH, behavioural, or additional learning needs.
• Be passionate about making the Creative Arts accessible, inclusive and engaging for all learners.
• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Drama within a UK secondary school.
• Strong subject knowledge across the Drama and Performing Arts curriculum, including GCSE and A-Level Drama and Theatre Studies.
• Experience preparing students for practical and written assessments.
• A clear understanding of adaptive teaching and inclusive classroom practice.
• Up-to-date safeguarding training (desirable but not essential).

To Be Eligible for This Role Through Prospero Teaching, You Must:

• Be willing to register with Prospero Teaching and complete all compliance procedures.
• Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
• Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
• Provide two professional references covering the last two years.
