Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with this Client, a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in the borough of Southwark, to appoint a passionate and creative Drama Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Drama specialist to inspire confidence, creativity, and performance skills across Key Stages 3 and 4 within a supportive and ambitious school environment.

This Client is a well-regarded secondary school that has been recognised in its most recent Ofsted inspection for its strong leadership, inclusive ethos, and commitment to student achievement. Inspectors praised the school's positive learning culture, effective teaching, and the high levels of engagement from students. The report also highlighted the school's commitment to the arts, including Drama and Performing Arts, as a key strength in developing student confidence and creativity.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and imaginative Drama lessons, developing students' performance, communication, and collaboration skills. You will be expected to plan and deliver high-quality lessons, assess student progress, contribute to curriculum development, and support school productions, performances, and extracurricular Drama clubs.

Job role requirements include teaching Drama across KS3 and KS4, strong subject knowledge in Drama and Performing Arts, the ability to deliver creative and engaging lessons, effective classroom and behaviour management, and a commitment to encouraging student participation and confidence in performance. You should also be willing to contribute to whole-school productions and enrichment opportunities.

The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, a degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, or a related subject, and experience teaching Drama in a secondary school setting. A strong understanding of the KS3 and KS4 Drama curriculum is essential. The successful teacher will be energetic, imaginative, and passionate about the performing arts, with the ability to inspire students of all abilities. ECTs with strong Drama training and placement experience are encouraged to apply.

Salary: London MPS/UPS

M1 - M6 Salaries are aligned to experience within the Main Pay Range. Teachers typically progress annually from M1 through to M6, UPS requires formal application. TLR payments made for agreed, sustained additional duties outside of regular teaching.
